Your eyes are not deceiving you as that is my results for today... yes, this is another negative variance post as today has by far been my most disgusting session in SnGs to date. I played a total of 34 games and did not get a single cash. Yes, you heard that right. I dropped $200 from the roll and it hurts. I'm trying not to dwell on it too much as it's quite obvious from my previous success that if anybody can pull out of a downswong, it's nemoooooooo!
I just spent the last 2 hours going over every HH from my games today to find out why I couldn't cash and noticed a trend in my play the entire session. Basically I lost a lot of coin flips in the beginning and it looks as if it may have tilted me a bit in the middle of the session. I did regain my confidence in the end it seems and played well but couldn't get my +EV shoves and such to hold. very ul as it seems.
I also had a pretty long conversation with Chip "z32fanatic" about what could have possibly gone wrong and he stated that it's obviously very rare to go this many games without a cash when you're playing decent but he did assure me that he has gone many more games without a single cash. He told me to keep my head up and go over my HHs and take some good notes. Also he said to just look at my recent success as motivation to grind as I told him I didn't feel like grinding anymore. He's a really cool guy and his advice is usually right on.
I'm going to post some hands on RaiseTheRiver forums to see if my plays were correct and why or why not and such as I think that's the best way for me to improve atm.
Anywho, here's some very brief notes on my games so you can see the trends in my games today. I think taking notes after a losing session like this is a good way to improve your game in so many ways as you can know exactly what NOT to do next time you're in a smiliar situation:
Game 1 = AK aipf
Game 2 = AK aipf
Game 3 = AK badly played
Game 4 = K9s
Game 5 = Bad play with K8s when folded to on the button.
Game 6 = AK badly played
Game 7 = A9o aipf
Game 8 = Horrile 97o play in bb when limpers on an 85T board.
Game 9 = Bad shove with AQo on button over BBs 3-bet.
Game 10 = AJo all in on the flop of QT7. ul
Game 11 = Bad play with 55 aipf against short stack. then AK<22 12 =" Very" 13 =" +EV" 14 =" +EV" 15 =" Badly" 16 =" Bad" 17 =" +EV" 18 =" AI" 19 =" Got" 20 =" FT" 21 =" Bad" 22 =" +EV" 23 =" +EV" 24 =" Shove" 25 =" Donked" 26 =" +EV" 27 =" Horrible" 28 =" AIPF" 29 =" FT" 30 =" +EV" 31 =" Badly" 32 =" FT" 33 =" +EV" 34 =" AIPF">
That's basically all for now. Like I stated in my last post I'm going to be putting in some crazy "true" grinder hours starting tomorrow so expect to see me get out of this downswong and make some profits!
*EDIT: So obv my notes got fucked up some how when I was posting the blog and I didn't save them. fml.

Stay cool nemo, tomorrow is a new day and it's just the sad variance.
The profits will come soon!
thanks man! and whenever you get money on Stars we'll play some games, even if it's super micros like the $1 games. Let me know! Also you should start up a poker blog.
I would get on a couple chess.com games with you bro but I just can't pull myself to play any chess atm as I'm so stuck in the poker mindset it's all I want to do.
Just a question, mate. There seem to be a few AK aipf's. I'm not sure at what level they are happening, but do you need to be coinflipping in those spots if you are the better player? It is after all a drawing hand. I'm no SnG expert, so just curious.
Cheers Tio,
most of them happened in the first three blind levels. As I havent had any coaching yet from the guys that are supposed to be coaching me, I just base my play off a simple 45-man tutorial that I've read. Basically in these micros it's always going to be +EV to get it in preflop with AK.
And from the HHs where I busted with AK preflop I was always a favorite to win the hand as I was always up against hands like AJo and even much worse like K4o. Standard imo.
